The holiday craziness is upon us, and with it brings a few changes we wanted to apprise you of.
As you all know, we have an especially high energy class this year, and we are trying to adapt our teaching style to best meet the children where they are at, while still teaching them the skills that they will need to succeed in the 4 year old class. A large part of this is being able to look at things that we are doing that are not necessarily successful or providing value to the goals we are working towards. To that end, we have restructured a few things. We are taking a hiatus from having classroom helpers (jobs) for a little bit. This will help us achieve two things: We can shorten the amount of time that we have the children sitting at the rug by a few minutes. Also, the little time that we gain we can use to work on some social skills such as talking nicely with our friends, listening and using self control, We are going to introduce a new behavior management incentive program after the holidays. Look for more information on this after winter break! The bikes and cars in the hallway will no longer be available for the children to ride once they have been picked up by their parents. Things have gotten a bit raucous out in the hallway as of late, and it is very distracting to the children in the classrooms right off the hallway. We appreciate your help and understanding as we implement these changes!
