We spent the past two weeks talking about the zoo and finishing up some end of the year projects! Last week the children made a list of all the different animals that we see at the zoo. We glued colored squares on Elmer the patchwork elephant and spots on a leopard from the book Put Me in the Zoo! We spent lots of time outside enjoying the beautiful weather! Most of you have probably heard/seen the fun we have going on on the playground. A killdeer has laid two eggs underneath one of our slides! The children are perhaps way more excited about the bird than she is about us! It's hard to believe, but we completed the final page for our portfolios!! They worked very hard on those butterflies! The children are very excited to finally be able to bring them home!! This week we painted with animal shaped sponges and we made a paper plate giraffe! The children painted the plate yellow, gave their giraffe brown spots and then finally added a face and ears! We think they turned out pretty cute! :) The last day of the school year is Wednesday, June 9th.
Little Scouts will be closed on Thursday, June 10th and Friday, June 11th for staff work days. Summer session will begin on Monday, June 14th.
