Happy Earth day! We talked about how to keep the Earth healthy so that it is around for a long, long time. We had lots of new vocabulary that we talked about, but the most important definition that we learned was what it means when we say Recycle. (It means to take something used and make something new out of it!) We learned all the different things that our Recycle bin can be used to make: it's not just paper, new cans, and new glass bottles or glassware but bags, and clothes and toys! We also learned that while Recycling is very important, there are other ways to help the earth. Use less. Reuse things when you can. Turn off the lights. Turn off the water. Tale a look at our Earth Day board and see what great ideas we have! :) The children loved our Earth day sensory play activity. We used shaving cream that we colored to look like land and water! For those of you wondering why your children perhaps came home looking like smurfs here is why!! :) Here are the lyrics to a song we enjoyed this week. Perhaps you have heard it being sung around your house!! E-A-R-T-H (to the tune of "B-I-N-G-O") There is a planet we all love And Earth is its name. E-A-R-T-H E-A-R-T-H E-A-R-T-H And Earth is its name. We are OPEN on Monday April 29th. It was originally a day off, but the school calendar got changed because of the snow days taken!
