We are starting to get into a routine here in our classroom. We had another friend join us this week. The transition to the three's classroom always brings changes...one of the big ones that we introduced this week is center time. Center time is a big part of our daily morning routine in the three year old room. Centers are typically areas within the classroom where the children will learn by playing and engaging in activities that revolve around our theme of the week. This is when we will spend focused time working on important 3 year old skills: number recognition, pre-math skills such as 1 to 1 correspondence, sorting, and fine motor work such as cutting, stringing beads, using tweezers and making play dough shapes. Before we start our "real work" we need to get the children used to moving from center to center. At the art table this week we did some dot art, painted with a sponge and painted at the easel. If you have not already done so please remember to turn in all your paper work; Covid procedures, updated parent handbook, internet release and classroom directory information!
Next week we will continue to learn our new routines, as well as participating in our very first theme of the class....COLORS! Have a great weekend!!
