Happy Birthday Ethan & Ms. Monzingo! We have spent the week talking about bugs and insects. We discussed what makes a bug an insect, and which bugs are insects and which ones are just "bugs"! (Confused yet? We are!) So, this is what we learned: insects have 3 body parts, 6 legs and 2 antennae. Some insects have wings, some don't. Some insects can swim, some can't. But all of them are pretty cool looking! For art this week we painting paper plates which transformed into lovely ladybugs. Our ants on a leaf project required our spatial perception skills to make sure that we spaced out our ants appropriately! We were also very busy working on a secret project! We loved examining the bugs and insects under a magnifying glass, plastic of course :) The children got really good at identifying the 3 body parts and counting legs to see if they were insects or "just bugs". So excited to FINALLY get outside and enjoy the beautiful weather!! Next week we will be talking about caterpillars and butterflies!
If you haven't already...please bring in a picture of you your little scout and their mom for our bulletin board in the front! We are running low on wipes! If you would consider bringing in a package to help us make it to the end of the year, we would really appreciate it!
