Technically speaking, spring has sprung. Although it might not *feel* like spring just yet, after reading lots of books on "spring changes"we learned that this is exactly what early spring is supposed to feel like!! The books we read helped us learn what changes we can be looking for outside: things like birds flying back from their vacations in warmer climates, more bugs trying to get inside our homes (and school), more little critters out and about as chipmunks and frogs and groundhogs come out from their winter sleep are all signs that warmer weather is on it's way! The trees are just starting to get tiny little buds and in just a few weeks we will begin to see plant shoots growing and the grass getting greener! Spring is a very busy time, and it all happens very quickly! We used a few different skills at our art table this week... we are continuing to add to our portfolio and completed two pages this week! We used scissors to cut out kites for a spring page and we used our hand prints to make a crab for an under the sea page. We also painted spring flowers at the easel! We had a few fun spring centers out this week! We added playdough "eggs" to our birdnest playdough pages, we sorted flower erasers, and we played a fun "feed the frog" game where we used tweezers to feed plastic flies to our frogs! Important things to know:Ms. Monzingo is having surgery over spring break and will be at home recovering until April 10th. Ms. Linda will be helping out in our class while she is out! Ms. Linda is a familiar face in our room, and we are so happy that she can help out! We will be closed next week, March 25th-March 29th for Spring Break! School will resume on Monday, April 1st. Have a wonderful Spring Break!
When we return from spring break we will be doing an author study on Laura Numeroff...we love the If You Give a series!!
