This week we continued to talk about bats and spiders before moving on to some Halloween fun! We "sewed" spider webs with paper plates and yarn...a great combination of art and motor planning practice! We painted and glued Halloween wreaths to decorate our room, assembled paper bat headbands (you can see the children wearing them in a pic below) and created owls for our Whoo's Who bulletin board which will be put up next week. We had lots of of sneaky fine motor work this week! We used our scissor scoopers to transfer colored rice and tweezers to pick up the spiders in our sensory table. We worked on patterning with our spiderweb game and number recognition with our spooky ghosts! Halloween Activities Information:
Wednesday, October 30th Halloween Party for Little Scout Families in our Large Motor Room hosted by the Sophomore and Freshman Student Council...4:00-5:00 PM There will be treats, games and lots of fun!! Come in costume or come as you are...just come join in the fun!! This is a really cute party that the high school students throw especially for us and the children of the teachers at LFHS! Just as an FYI- The students usually start cleaning up around 4:45...so if you want to get the full experience, it's best to plan to be in by 4:30 at the latest! Thursday, October 31st **Please send your child in his/her costume and make sure to send a change of clothes! We will be changing out of our costumes before we go outside to help preserve them for trick or treating! Please refrain from sending any play weapons (even if they are part of the costume). Our plan for the day: We will be having our special Halloween snack and then we will be going upstairs to "trick or treat" in the administration offices. After trick or treating we will come downstairs and play some Halloween games. Around 11:00 we will change out of our costumes and hopefully go run around outside. Friday November 1st is pajama day! Please send your child to school in their PJ's! Reminder: Little Scouts will be closed on Friday, November 8th!
