We started our jobs this week...each morning during our circle time 6 children (on a rotating basis) get to choose one of our classroom jobs...so fun! Classroom jobs are a vital part of our classroom routine because it helps our students to feel important, it helps the children learn responsibility and it also helps to promote positive behavior! Plus it gives us all an opportunity to contribute to our classroom community! We have also been very busy reviewing our colors this week! Not only have we talked about what colors we like to wear, what colors we see...we also talked about how to mix colors together to make a new one! Our first science activity of the year was all about color mixing. We had such fun watching our fizzy color tablets dissolve and combine to make new colors! One of our favorite rug time activities this week was the story about DOG, a very colorful dog. We had a lot of fun hearing about the different ways he got dirty, and adding on spots...check it out below! The art table was a busy place. We glued spots on a dog, painted with bubble wrap and mixed primary colors with our hands to see what color they would make. You can see the colorful dogs hanging in our classroom. We continued to work on our colors during center time. We used our bear family pattern cards, and worked on color patterns and we used our colored pegs to make rainbow designs. Next week we will be talking about shapes and all the different places that we can see them! Have a wonderful three day weekend!! Gentle Reminders: If you have not brought in the supplies, paperwork or $25 that we requested in the Welcome Letter please do so ASAP! We are in desperate need of a new camera...as we are having some serious compatibility issues with Weebly and the cameras on our phones! If anyone has a digital camera collecting dust or is looking for an excuse for an upgrade, we would be happy to give you a tax letter in exchange for your donation of a working digital camera!!!
