Technically speaking, spring has sprung. Although it might not *feel* like spring just yet, after reading lots of books on "spring changes"we learned that this is exactly what early spring is supposed to feel like!! The books we read helped us learn what changes we can be looking for outside: things like birds flying back from their vacations in warmer climates, more bugs trying to get inside our homes (and school), more little critters out and about as chipmunks and frogs and groundhogs come out from their winter sleep are all signs that warmer weather is on it's way! The trees are just starting to get tiny little buds and in just a few weeks we will begin to see plant shoots growing and the grass getting greener! Spring is a very busy time, and it all happens very quickly! We used a few different skills at our art table this week...eye droppers to make umbrellas, scissors to cut out kites, and then glue dots to decorate our kites! We had a few different centers that focused on building strength and endurance in our hands...geo boards where we have to manipulate the rubber bands to make the design we want, lacing beads, but our favorite was definitely our feed the frog flies game! We will be closed next week, March 26th-April 2nd for Spring Break! School will resume on Tuesday, April 3rd. Have a wonderful Spring Break!
