We started the week talking about pumpkins and then moved on to learning about spiders and bats. Along with learning about what bats and spiders eat, and where they live we also learned about how they are helpful to us...without bats and spiders there would be A LOT more mosquitoes, beetles and other insects around to bother us! At our art table this week we worked on spatial reasoning while assembling our bats on the moon. We also made a Halloween wreath that you can see hanging in our room. We also used our 5 senses (well, really only 4...no taste this time around) to make observations about our pumpkin...both the outside and inside Fine motor centers this week were a busy place as usual. More number recognition, sorting, and those pesky tweezers again :) One of our games used milk caps with numbers written on them that they had to match to numbers on the bats. This game works on both number recognition as well as number order Halloween Activities Information: Wednesday, October 25th Halloween Party for Little Scout Families in the gym at WEST CAMPUS hosted by the Sophomore Student Council 4:00-5:15 PM There will be treats, games and lots of fun!! Come in costume or come as you are...just come join in the fun!! This is a really cute party that the high school students throw especially for us and the children of the teachers at LFHS! Tuesday, October 31st **Please send your child in his/her costume and make sure to send a change of clothes! We will be changing out of our costumes before we go outside to help preserve them for trick or treating! Please refrain from sending any play weapons (even if they are part of the costume). Our plan for the day: We will be having our special Halloween snack and then we will be going upstairs to "trick or treat" in the administration offices. After trick or treating we will come downstairs and play some Halloween games. Around 11:00 we will change out of our costumes and hopefully go run around outside.
