What a busy week it was! Things are getting festive, and we are certainly getting in the spirit of things here! We have been as busy as Santa's elves making a special surprise for our families, so we can't show you pictures of that...but don't worry, we have lots of other pictures to show you! We sponge painted stockings to hang by our "chimmney" with care...out in the hallway. We assembled cute little elf hats that will make an appearence in a special surprise next week, we marble painted dreidels and we "decorated" our christmas trees while practicing our "drop and stop" glue technique! Our focus has been fine motor work with a holiday twist! We decorated our Styrofoam trees by threading beads onto the pipe-cleaner branches. We played with our new pink peppermint play dough, rolling, pinching and forming balls, and Christmas "cookies"! We also spent some time working on our math skills using a couple of number recognition games with some holiday flair. The first one was a simple number matching game on Christmas trees, and the other we had to identify the number on the lightbulb and place that many Santas on top! A few other centers to note: we played "Holiday What's Missing" and had to use our observation skills to figure out which holiday item had been removed from the tray and our holiday eraser sorting and patterning center...who knew teeny tiny erasers could be so much fun?!! Little Scouts will be closed Monday, December 19th-Monday, January 2nd! School will resume Tuesday, January 3rd!
