Apples, apples everywhere. . .who knew such fun could be had! We had a blast painting with red and green at the easel, using our dot markers, cutting out apples and even using a real apple to make apple prints with! Did you know that an apple will float in water? That is one of the many new things that we learned this week about apples! During our apple taste test we discovered green apples were the most popular. We graphed the results from our highly scientific test, take a look at our graph outside the door! We also made mini apple hand pies...which almost everyone thought were really delicious! The children helped to cut up the apples and sprinkle on the cinnamon sugar...it was a sweet treat to end our week! We measured and scooped apple pie oatmeal in our sensory table this week. We also worked on some number recognition and color matching with a few different apple games. The children had to count the number of seeds in the apple or apples in the tree and identify the number. We will continue working on this skill throughout the coming weeks! This is one of our favorite apple songs that we have been singing...
Way up high, in the tree Way up high, in the tree, Five red apples smiled at me, So I shook that tree as hard as I could, Down came an apple mmm, mmm, good! (Continue with four, three, etc) Next week we will continue with our month long fall theme, and learn about animals in the fall!
