Hi Everyone! By now you should have each received your bag/box filled with fun things! We wanted to link to each of the art projects for you and explain a bit about what is in there. First, a list of contents: 1 plastic shoe box (great as a small sensory bin) 1 small bag of water beads 1 dinosaur egg and instructions Pirate's Booty Glue Stick Spring Bingo Dinosaur Types Sheet Art Projects Coffee Filter Butterfly (requires markers, glue and water) Paper Flower Collage (requires glue or glue stick) Bead Bugs Grass Head Garden (requires scissors, brown and blue marker, crayon or paint, and glue stick) 3 Wooden Butterflies (requires markers or paint) Water Beads We have given you 3 teaspoons of water beads. If you are going to use them all at once (they fit nicely in the plastic shoe box) pour them in a container and add 9 cups of water. It takes a while for them to expand...but it is kinda fun to check on them as they grow! Spring Bingo We will play this as a class on our Zoom on Friday May 1st! You will need to use something as bingo markers...pennies, goldfish crackers, m&m's, beads. Just about anything goes so long as you have 9 of them! Paper Flower Collage This project is pretty self explanatory, glue the tissue paper onto the flower cut out to make a beautiful spring flower. You can use either school glue or the glue stick for this project, we recommend putting the glue on the white flower and sticking the paper on top of the glue! Bead Bugs (Click on Picture to link to activity) This is a great fine motor activity! We have included three pipe cleaners and lots of beads...let your child thread the beads onto the pipe cleaners. Pro tip: So you don't wind up with beads everywhere, use a rimmed baking sheet to contain everything! This is a great time to practice patterning, if you wanted to add some math into the art project! Garden (Click on picture to link to activity) This project is the most involved, but turns out really cute! We have included 1 paper plate, 1 half paper plate, 3 carrots, and 3 leaves. Have your child cut out the carrots and the leaves, and use a glue stick to attach the one leaf to the top of each carrot. We want to make a "pocket" so be careful which side of the plates are colored on. Color or paint the whole paper (dinner side up) plate blue. Color or paint the BACK of the half paper plate brown. Attach the brown paper plate (colored side out) to the blue paper plate using staples or a glue stick, "Plant" the carrots in the dirt! Grass Heads (Click on picture for instructions) A little planting project for you! Plus, it's fun to give the grass head a "haircut" once his hair starts getting long! We have included a plastic cup, potting soil, a bag of grass seed, a stickers for eyes, mouth and nose. All your child has to do is assemble! If you want to add another element, have them transfer the soil from the bag to the cup with a spoon...good fine motor practice!! Coffee Filter Butterfly (click on picture for link) We have included one coffee filter, one clothespin, two tiny googly eyes, 1 twisty pipe cleaner. Click on the picture for instructions on how to "tie-dye" the coffee filter using only markers and water! Pro-tip: If you don't have a spray bottle, a sprinkling of water over the top of of the coffee filter works too! We just want to get it a little wet so that the colors blend together on the coffee filter! Wooden Butterflies The most simple of our projects! 3 wooden butterflies, perfect for paint or markers to decorate and then to display!
