Technically speaking, spring has not sprung, but it sure has been feeling like it outside! It has been so nice getting outside and using the playground again!! This week we talked about what changes we can be looking for outside: things like birds flying back from their vacations in warmer climates, more bugs trying to get inside our homes (and school), more little critters out and about as chipmunks and frogs and groundhogs come out from their winter sleep are all signs that warmer weather is on it's way! Spring is a very busy time, and it all happens very quickly! We used a few different skills at our art table this week... we are continuing to add to our portfolio and completed our March page this week! We glued paper and tissue paper onto shamrocks to decorate our room and used scissors to cut out kites. We then marbled painted our kites. It was super fun shaking the marbles around in the bin!! We also painted shamrocks at the easel! We had a few fun spring centers out this week. We added playdough "eggs" to our birds nest playdough pages and we sorted flower erasers. Next week we will have some St. Patrick's Day fun! Remember to wear green on Wednesday!!
Our class continues to grow and we have a new friend starting on Monday and another after break! With this being said you will notice that your child may no longer have two cubbies. This is great timing with the weather getting nicer and not having the need hopefully for snow pants. Feel free to bring them home but please continue to send hats and gloves. Sadly we still have some colder days ahead! Little Scouts will be closed for Spring Break: Friday, March 19th-Friday, March 26th!
